Go Music Therapy!

Check out this great article from today's Globe celebrating the wonders of what we do!
Take me there!

Super Sunday!

Thanks to everyone that attended the meeting yesterday-especially those of you not on the board. It's nice to have your support and interest in the organization. After all, we are working to help make your lives better!
Thanks to Anna Maria for hosting and for all who provided goodies!
Also, the drumming at Mercy Centre was a huge success! I hope everyone had a fabulous time. It's such a great event and a great way to expand music therapy into the community. The kids loved having so many new faces there. If you have further interest about Mercy Centre check out their web site:

Please book mark this site and check often for the latest news (and pictures)!

College Night @ the Museum of Science

Monday, September 10, 2007 | 4:00 pm

The Museum welcomes students back to the city in style by offering free admission for a night of exhibits, laser shows, 3-D presentations, live programs, and more. Since the Mugar Omni Theater will be closed for renovation during College Night, students receive two complimentary passes to experience the transformed theater after it reopens.

The evening also features a candid discussion with Amber Madison, author of Hooking Up: A Girl's All-Out Guide to Sex and Sexuality, followed by a book signing.

Valid college ID required for free admission. There is a limit of two timed tickets per person for special exhibits, films, and presentations. College Night 2007 is sponsored by The Boston Globe. KISS 108FM will be on site playing music. Free parking available at the Museum, or take the T: Green Line to the Science Park station. For more information: 617-589-4251.

Passages Update!

Here are some brief notes about the meeting held to discuss this year's Passages Conference.

Lesley will be doing a short opening to
start the day, probably an experiential.
Berklee is doing the plenary session on their trip to africa.
Anna Maria College will do a short closing.

There will be a raffle held. We need HELP to solicit
donations from music stores for raffle items.

We will also have a NER-AMTAS table set up at the
conference to sell t-shirts and other goods. We hope
to get new students interested in joining the professional
organization and becoming involved at the student level.

***We are looking for presenters and volunteers for set-up and tear down

Passages Conference

There was a meeting last night to discuss the Passages conference for this fall. I will put some notes up when I get them from our president. We are still looking for people to present. I will be adding a link to contact the right people if you are interested. It is even possible to team up with others and do a few "mini presentations" during one of the blocks. More information will come. Additional information can be found on the NER AMTA site, which is linked at the side of this page.
